The mercs show up

I unplug for a while and watch some haloreels with Smith when I heard my Comms chip bleep and a face projected in front of it. Plugged it in and was face to face with Regicyde - front runner and CEO of the mercenary corporation on my tail  - The Boondock Saints -

Poked around on my off time to do a little research, seems they're definately Ex- Orphanage, so they know rens like the back of their hand, and thats a problem, probably got some friends too. With their obvious religious tendencies I am now leaning more towards the Amarrians paying them to put pressure on me in my own highsec, for as we all know, OMGROFLSTOMP kills all.

----------- Private channel communications Log ---------

And Shepherds we shall be
For thee, my Lord, for thee.
Power hath descended forth from Thy hand
Our feet may swiftly carry out Thy commands.
So we shall flow a river forth to Thee
And teeming with souls shall it ever be.
..........................
In Nomeni Patri, Et Fili, Spiritus Sancti

Dude wait you opened up communications with me right?
Yes, Hello I'm Regicyde.
Why the hell are you praying?
It is what we do my son.
oh....kay....
Me and my brother(s) are forced to murder you for your wicked soul.
Yes, I see you have wardecced my corporation.
Now you will receive us.
We do not ask for your poor, or your hungry.
We do not want your tired and sick.
It is your corrupt we claim.
It is your evil that will be sought by us.
With every breath we shall hunt them down.
Each day, we will spill their blood till it rains down from the skies.
Do not kill, do not rape, do not steal, these are principles which every man of every faith can embrace.
These are not polite suggestions, these are codes of behavior and those of you that ignore them will pay the dearest cost.
There are varying degrees of evil, we urge you lesser forms of filth not to push the bounds and cross over, into true corruption, into our domain.
For if you do, one day you will look behind you and you will see we three. And on that day, you will reap it.
And we will send you to whatever god you wish.

(smith is hunched over my back as we both stand half ominously and half pure delight at the image on the viewscreen)

We have many Gods, I am Matari, can you calm down dude, you're freaking my lady friend out.
It is not my words you should fear, but my Ships, my men, and for your soul.
So... can I go back to watching Debbie does Jita now? My girl was kind of into it, and I'm not flying tonight.
My son, I pray for you this morning, for tonight, you dine in hell.
Dude, if you pod me I just wake up in another clone. Cut the crap, I'll see you on the field.

War update -

The war with Applied Industries has been retracted. I had a mutual friend as well as my brother open private communication channels with me to explain that the above named corporation had blue standings with my brothers alliance and was asked by him, Their CEO, and the CEO of the war target corporation to retract the dec. I did so for the small exchange of a myrmidon class battlecruiser. A gesture of good faith. I got a contract and retracted the wardec immediately through a known CONCORD friend.

I haven't seen much of Dynamic international Solutions, but perhaps I should start looking.

Pator tech corp has also evaded me for the time being. Perhaps I should undock from Rens.

The mercenary corporation has not shown itself either.

Total war cost thus far - 12 Million isk
Total amount gained - 1 myrmidon (32 million Isk)

Alone

Plugged in my chip and checked my EVE-mails, seems someone didn't like that I wardecced their corporation and sent some mercs after me. Small corporation, 12 guys, from the intelligence I've gathered (none) seem to be in fact a corporation operating in New Eden. Interesting. I just don't care to even look into them, Its not worth it. I am now involved in six wars, including the Amarrian and Caldari nations.

Noticed another mail, Rendeath decided to leave the corporation. Went to another corporation in the militia. Good luck I guess, seems OMGROFLSTOMP has lost some of its appeal. With Rendeath gone, and Duke gone, it seems I am alone again. Rod is on a semi-permenent vacation on Auga Prime, and Shane hasn't shown up for a meeting since he got his new apartment in gallente space. Seems those gallente girls just throw themselves at minmatar soldiers, can't say I blame them.

Well, someones gotta do the killing, and I guess that falls to me. Usually does anyway TBH, its how I like it.

Something is wrong -

I got a call from my brother a few days ago asking me if I wanted to help him deal some logistics blows to the Amarrian militia, and, as I hadn't seen my brother for a while, and was not doing anything anyway, I agreed.

His plan was to hunt down potentially weakly tanked targets in amarr highsec flying in industrial ships, mining ships, lightly tanked cruisers etc., and anyone on autopilot.

We met up in Houla and I started buzzing around Otelen to Amarr and surrounding areas looking for known Amarrian targets. A few minutes later I found him a retriever. He made the few jumps from Houla and pushed back the amarrian gate forces, made his way over to Yuhelia and promptly got rid of the ship and pod. I scooped all the loot I could carry and pressed on.

We were at it for a few more hours but everyone was mostly docked up or the system was empty, so we headed back to Auga for a few beers. We met at our usual spot, slavehound's, the last time I was there I wound up getting carried out and thrown into an empty shuttle. Azn kept me waiting for what felt like 15 minutes, but was actually 7 hours, and I sensibly passed those hours taking shots and slapping ass, I think?

Anyway, I had arrived first and ordered a round for myself and my brother that had just been passed to me by the barmaid (read: fat ugly Caldari woman) when suddenly this heavily pierced and tattooed guy grabbed me off my stool and began wrestling me to the ground. I was about to crack him in the face when I realized it was my brother, and all color began to drain from my face.

"What did you do to yourself"?
"What do you mean?"
"Your face, those piercings, those weird marks above your eyes and across your forehead"
"Who the fuck knows, woke up one morning with them, one hell of a night, got a little too drunk with the local pirate population"
"Pirates? Why are you hanging around with pirates?"
"They're not too bad, some interesting ideals about New Eden, some of it made sense"
"Azn you didn't actually believe what they said right?"
"Fuck you man, you're not my father, I'm tired of fighting for freedom, I'm a free man, what have you done lately?"

And with that he left the bar, throwing his glass at the wall and muttering something about killing anyone in his way until he had no more ships to fly.My brother has always been a good man, I wonder what made him cause a scene like that, I hope he doesn't do anything drastic......

Cowards

I took a walk down to my hanger today to take an inventory of what ships I have collected over the last few months and noticed a cargo box with the word "THORAX" stamped on the side in black ink. I bought a few of them and built a few nano/shield/autocannon thoraxs some months back to experiment with their longevity, and apparently this one never got built.

The shield/nano/AC thorax held up decently, less DPS then a rupture but able to hold a flight of ec-300s in addition to a flight of warrior drones, and longer lasting cap with MWD on, its a pretty decent trade off. However with the recent completion of the requirements needed to install and use tech2 blasters, I decided it was time to test a gallente ship with gallente weaponry. After conversing with my chief about the various pros/cons to different fittings, I selected a fit I was happy with and undocked into augas black sky.

After picking up some necessary modules and ammunition in Vard, I headed around into Kourmonen, which had a healthy amount of biblethumpers floating about. A few warps and some scans later, I had a mostly complete list of that was in the system (war target wise)

Harbinger
Hurricane
Myrmidon
Guardian
Curse
Malediction
Drake
Retribution

I was with two pilots in frigates and decided that the above listing was a bit too much for us. I few warps later and I noticed the drake pilot was nano-fit (MWD, nanos, capable of going 1400 m/s) and had either
A) a faction warp disruptor
B) a very healthy fleet booster or
C) both, as he was pointing me at 35 KM.

I noticed that he was also using HMLs and not HAMs, so the DPS was not very high, and I decided to ask the pilot to fight me by himself, in the same ships, away from our respective fleets.  No answer in local communications, so I attempted to open up a conversation with the pilot "Lugalzagezi666". Not allowed to contact? He blocked me? The nerve. Made fun of him and asked any Amarr capsuleer to open communications forwarding my request. 10 WT in local, all very much active, and no response. Interesting.

Checked out a beacon in the system, landed on the aforementioned pilot, who quickly warp disrupted me and opened fire. Seems that while he can not be bothered to speak, he can shoot, and my scanner looks kinda full. Hit the MWD, aligned for auga, burnt out of his (very) long point range and warped to a safe near Auga.

Opened communications with my brother, asking him to talk to the pilot. Tells me the pilot said " I tried to 1v1, but you warped off" followed by a closing of the communications channel and (more then likely, not confirmed yet, just judging by the actions of the pilot previously) an additional block.

Coward, even with bigger + tankier cowardly Caldari ships, fleet boosting, and long range weaponry, he will not engage in an arranged 1v1.

Warp to the titan?

It feels like I haven't flown a ship in a week. Sure I sit in them, mainly to surf through the Galnet channels and see whos pissing who off, how the action has been, who the newest member of the "she looked like a nice Gallente girl, but now I have this rash" club is, and most importantly, if there are any fleets up.

I plugged in my chip today in the hopes of killing some biblethumpers, but got real lazy and just bullshitted with my brother for half the day. He helped me sneak my first Brutix into Auga the other night and wanted a tour of the station. He seemed a bit concerned about the lack of open shops on the market level and that the entire station smelled like piss, but I think this was his first time in lowsec and he doesn't know any better.

So we're at Slavehound's near my hanger on level four slamming back shots that I don't even know what to call, and my brother kept blabbering on about some ninja salvager he took care of the other night. He talked about his baiting, general strategy, and explained when to overheat to me like I've never flown a gank cane, what a jackass. Seems to know a lot about fighting capsuleers for someone who hasn't left highsec since he graduated, interesting.

Seems he was running a mission for some faceless corporate manager in Frarn when some guy in a hurricane took some modules from a wreck of his. Ripped him a new one too, I'm proud of him.

Suddenly my Comms chip started buzzing, and my Ocular filter projected the grizzly image of Bald Beaver (A a gallente militia member frequenting these parts) requesting me to join his fleet. I told my brother to take a few shots and keep my seat warm while I figured out what this was all about.

Seems they needed some Armor battleships for an engagement about 20 jumps away, and I was not looking forward to it. Took me a little while, but I warmed to the idea, The insurance on the Typhoon was up in a few days, I rarely use it, and since I had no idea where the fleet was actually headed and was already in my cheap clone (slow response time, shitty implants, can't boost a powergrid for a damn) I decided to go. Late last night I decided to close down my Hanger in the curse region as ratting out there just isn't practical anymore, sold off all my ships, BPOs, crappy modules, etc. loaded up my Hurricane and set destination to Auga.

Seems AAA didn't want me to go.

Suddenly I'm in Rens puking my brains out and trying to breathe, the Clone operator slapped me on the ass, threw some clothes my way, and jammed some shitty implants in my head. Makes me feel like a 30 ISK hooker every damned time. Whatever.

Anyway, got kinda sidetracked there, undocked my pod from auga and hit the kourm gate en route to get my typhoon. Landed on the station in Kourm just a little off and next to a cynabal, suddenly I wake up in rens puking my brains out and getting slapped on the ass again. FFS that clone couldn't even land on a station right? Put my pants on and kicked the clone operator in the dick, guarantee bitch, your upgrading my clone for free this time.

Got the phoon a few minutes later, dest was Villore, some shitty corner of gallente space. Hit lowsec with the fleet and now we're... warping to a titan? Great. Seems the fleet is a mix of minnie/gallente militia and some randoms who were dropping caps on some corporations POS I've never heard of. For fucks sake why did I even wake up this morning?

Dreads hit siege, Carriers hit triage, and like clockwork Enemy fleet cyno drops in, to which we counter drop our BS fleet. Targets called, torps launched, Dammit I hate fleet fights. The only saving grace is the assorted faction/navy battleships on the field, like this Four Billion ISK Bhaalgorn.
Their fleet bails or goes inside the POS, We start looting the field, when suddenly Abbadons. Tens of them. Shooting at me. Feck. Broadcast for reps, Seems the Carriers ran out of stront and bailed, wonderful . Explosions, in a pod, warp out even though home is 16 jumps away. Vomiting twice in one day is my limit. We won the fight, but they held the field.

Forgot to tell my brother to go home, dickhead's definitely falling off the barstool by now. Mom would be so proud.

RvB = Not for me

I hoped that starting slowly in a noob-friendly corporation would help me wrap my head around my brothers [stolen] memories and experience for a little while, until I figure out what I am actually doing. Turns out RvB is nothing more then blob-happy smack talking idiots with no actual thought process to want to learn how to PVP.

Yes they offer 1v1s, (if you're in a frigate only, from what I have seen. I tried to 1v1 my rupture vs an enemys cynabal who declined immediately, my drake vs a cane, who declined immediately, etc), yes they have fleets, but its all frigates and from the jacked experiences of AZN, I now hate flying frigates too.

I would almost never join the fleets, and just try to solo in a cruiser or battlecruiser, hell sometimes a battleship, and it always ended the same way, a bunch of cruisers, BCs, and possibly BS VS my lonely ship. I get in a rifter and they blob me. Rupture? same deal. Lucky for me they don't know how to tackle worth a damn and I usually made it out alive. Close call with the Maelstrom though, 16% hull on account of 6 BS landing on me after I engaged a drake (who engaged me). Hell half of the pilots in RvB have HG slave implants because no one pods in the damned war. Whats the danger of purchasing something you will not lose anyhow? Just makes for tougher 4 year old characters (who, seriously, should have probably left RvB long ago) who smack hard, bait harder, and blob even harder then your average pirate corporation.

They always thought I was with "the fleet" or "bait" or something, and would never engage me unless they had 10 ships and/or bigger ship classes.

It just wasn't for me. Put my app in to one of my brothers friends, lets see how that goes. Hope Azn won't be too mad. I promise to keep up with the PVP.

(Note - yea, I am a little butthurt, I was really looking foward to RvB, figured less faggotry, blobbing, whining, smacking. I was wrong. I figured I would be able to have some fun fights, my BC vs like 20 frigates, etc, nope, they just ship up to kill me etc etc. Every time I opened my mouth I got screamed at by someone. Fuck that. Its just dumb. Also market is HORRIBLE   I do not suggest you check out RvB at all.)

Not Starting Off Well

I decided I would start to test my merit by joining the Red Federation of RVB (Red vs. Blue), these pilots are mostly newer capsuleers and have a blood lust so fierce they fight only to fight, without reasoning. Seemed like a good place to start.

I set up a contract with Red Frog Freight (Azn told me they were quite quick generally and reliable)to move my Cyclone, 3 ruptures, a thrasher, and my flagship "Generational Transit" ( the maelstrom that was given to my by my brother for my graduation) and I flew my Typhoon out to the area where the fighting generally happens while I waited for my other ships to be delivered. A few hours later and the contract not arriving, I decided I would need something to poke aorund in, and the Typhoon just screams "KILL ME", so I built a Shield tanking long range Hurricane to pass the time and while waiting for my application to be accepted.

Shortly after I commenced my employment with the corporation, I undocked and warped to the Bereye gate at about 30km in Halle and landed on a sea of about 20 enemy frigates. Well, guess I'm not getting too much time to get my bearings and have been thrown into the fire of PVP. Thinking quickly and (at that moment) completely by myself I spun aorund and started locking the nearest frigates. One pop - two pop - three pop - four, Uh oh, I am tackled, but its okay, a friendly fleet just landed. I try neuting my way out, but its useless, I am tackled by 4 frigates and my corporation is not coming anywhere near me. Interesting. One of the guys I popped comes back in an Armageddon and rips me apart,  to which I come back in my typhoon to kill his ass, but he has disappeared. I wind up JUST BARELY killing more then I lost (about 11 ships total for the engagement).

Later in a freshly built rupture I get tackled by a Crow whos gang of about 8 jumps in and engages my solo self. Good times. I pop one of the T2 frigs, a Rifter, and a thrasher before they take me out, again just barely scraping by efficiency wise.

I build a (mostly) T1 fit rifter and get blobbed by the same gang while attempting to take out the bastard in the Crow ( but not before I got tackled by him 150 off the gate, at which point he had his gang warp on me, at which point I MWD and armor repped the full 150km while under fire from enemy destroyers and frigates, jumping out in 50% hull, repping up, and going back for seconds [yes I realize only three got on the KM, but there were eight, TRUST ME!!!]).

A little while later I build a myrmidon for the sole purpose of smashing the frig/cruiser fleet, and wind up playing bait for a friendly gang, which works, and I wind up tackling an enemy Myrm ( our fleet is 2 BCs, including myself, and 3-4 cruisers) and calling in the back up, while he calls in his backup ( a Dominix, and about 8 cruisers). Both Myrmidons die, as well as two of the enemies in ruptures, while we take no further losses. The Dominix jumps in low armor, and the Myrmidon reships to a Megathron,  but the entire gang misses tackle on BOTH battleships, and they get out safely.

Report (includes two frigates I killed later in a rifter).

I also killed a WT rifter in Halle, and lost my rifter to another rifter in Halle shortly after.

At the moment I am only at 60% efficiency despite killing 17 ships last night and losing only 5. It seems I have a lot to learn.

PS. It seems my corporation does not like giving people back loot after they lose ships. Which is fecking annoying.

A new Pilot

Having Graduated from the Republic Military School (my grades and lack of an attention span did not get me into the more prestigious Republic University like my brother, Azn)  approximately one year ago, I took some time off to see the sites, meet some women, and try to figure out what I wanted to do for the rest of my life.

Azn has been messaging me a lot lately, telling me it was time to make a plan for my life and stop screwing around. He's a pain in the ass, always talking about "Free Matar" and all that type of shit. He has been good to me though, to be honest. He graduated a few months before I did, and after taking time off from his (then) responsibilities with Ushra'Khan he actually made it on time to my graduation, which was a nice surprise. Our parents have been dead a while now, and he is the one who put me through school.

He pulled me aside after the ceremony and handed me a sheet of paper with the start  up codes to his Maelstrom class battleship and said it was mine provided the next time I saw him I would show him Tech Two 800mm Repeating Artillery  mounted on it. He never took the time to study and train things properly, and was kind of forcing the issue on me.

The next time we met I did in fact have those mounted on my Maelstrom, and my brother gave me a hug, told me not to lose it, told me to insure it, and reminded me of its various "character flaws" (don't boost shields while loading ammo, for some reason it forces the guns to lock up, top wingy bit needs to be rewelded, etc.) He has been very cool about me going my own way, every once in a while he'll send me on an errand to Jita (He hates Jita with a passion, even before he was in the militia) to pick up modules, or a ship, or move some crap around for him. He gives me a ship every once in a while as payment, which has been nice. Currently I own the aforementioned Maelstrom, a Typhoon class battleship, a Drake class battle-cruiser, and a Stabber class cruiser.

One one of my Jita runs for Azn, I ran into a shady character in a backroom of Jitas 4-4 station while chasing after a fine piece of Gallente ass. I was looking around for her when suddenly I was cracked in the head by some humongous Civire. When I came to the Caldari asshole was sitting there, laughing at me. Seems he had a device that can monitor and copy what his target has learned and trained for, and send it to the impants in his own head, remapping them, and having him learn it instantly. The reason he was laughing was because I apparently "didn't know shit" and he just wasted 20 minutes of his (worthless) life waiting for me to wake up because he apparently hit me far harder then he should have.

Needless to say I hit him with the nearest heavy object (born and bread Minmatar Dueling), which stunned him just long enough to grab his device and run like a wild Slaverhound back to my hanger.

Needless to say when I delivered the modules to Azn, I got him extremely drunk to the point at which he passed out, and used the device on him. Knowing what he knows has fueled the fires in my heart (and taught me how to fight a lot better) and has pushed me to stop the station trading, the missioning for unknown faces in a random corporation, the tail-chasing, the lethargy, etc.

But where to start?

Sorry Smith, Order Another One

Lately I find myself running around Heimatar By myself, trying to find some Amarrians to kill without backup. Seems the Amarrians will have none of that, and I have been losing ships left and right. Smith is not pleased as she fill out all the request forms for new ships, the insurance claim paperwork, as well as letters to the dead crewmens families.

First up was the Domi. I knew the proteus was bait. I knew he had a gang with him in the vicinity. I watched a brother aggro, and when he aggroed back, I knew I should bail. I didn't, and my first dominix exploded. However 85% of the crew as well as Smith got out quickly, as there was ample time to call an evac once I saw the WT spike in system. Almost got the ship out too, damn shame.

The next day, I decided to take out the Thorax. After sucessfully helping to hold down a vagabond and one-shotting a newer pilot in a velator, I attempted to shoot a prophecy on the Huola gate in Kourmonen. I was slowly whittling down his shields when three other enemy battlecruisers as well as a battleship jumped in and attempted to pop my cruiser. I opened up local communications and demanded an answer as to why they needed four battlecruisers and a battleship to shoot my lone cruiser, and they sheepishly replied that they came in to fight the battlecruisers that had just shot killed their vagabond. I stated that it was only the two battlecruisers, why so much firepower for that and got no answer.

Anyway I was 30ish KM from them when they entered, and successfully warped to station. Furthur aggression from a WT in an ishkur ended with local spiking by 20, me seeing 20 frigate to battlecruiser hulls MWDing at me, and him screaming away in 30% structure and myself furious I did not kill him in time.

After ten minutes and the WTs out of system, I decided to take a peek in Huola and POOF, thorax down. Reshipping immediately to a Rupture in an attempt to kill SOMETHING, I jumped back in and put the Keres in hull before succumbing to the DPS.

Ahh well, cant make an omelet without breaking some eggs right?

On a side note, corp member Shane Wolfe has provided me with a link to a NOIR parody music pack, which I am currently about to download into my interface and listen to when it is convenient. Check it out here.

To the Fallen Brothers

When I'm frustrated and have anger in my head I think of the relative ease of the life I have led. So many have struggled and died so that I may breathe air that's free, I hope when they look upon me they deem me worthy.

Dominating in the Dominix, drunken roams, and a Fleet fight

I have had enough of this planetside bullshit. Smith convinced me we needed a vacation and who can refuse the thought of a beautiful woman in a tiny bathing suit on the black sand beaches of Pator? Should have taken more pictures of Smith to be honest, gunna miss the visuals.

Toured the cities, swam in the crystal clear oceans, preyed at the holy sites of my tribe, visited the memorial dedicated to all the brothers who were abducted by those arrogant Amarrians oh so many years ago. After seeing that, I knew it was time to go back, my mind would not let me relax while my brothers were still in captivity.

Took the Interbus shuttle back to The Pator IV - Moon 1Station and made my way back to Auga. After a quick check of my local assets and seeing nothing missing or tampered with, I decided to undock my new Dominix and give her a shakedown run.

Jumping around for literally five minutes proved fruitful as I caught a Enemy in a Typhoon landing on the Kourmonen gate in Kamela.  I locked him up and hoped he would jump through to the other side, but instead he aligned away from the gate, and as soon as I realized he was actually off gate, I tackled him with my scrambler, Stasis webifier, and gave him a nice solid DOMIBUMP for good measure. He reacted by target painting me, and throwing torps at me. No scram? No problem. Not knowing the strengths and weaknesses of the Domi yet ( literally first time taking it off the station) and only fairly confident in its tank, I proceeded to tell the militia of my fight after getting the typhoon down to less then 50% armor (shame on the three Minmatar Militia members in stealth bombers that just passed right on through).

It appears the brothers were not needed, and as Manos Kdo pointed out, I could have pretty much soloed him.

Shame about the Ogre 1s tho.

Afterwords I formed a fleet and we went out roaming as I throttled back a few bottles of spiced wine and the like. After smashing into a few stargates and scratching up my Myrmidon, smith thought it would be best if she flew, and I pointed which direction to go, I happily agreed. Turns out I pointed to the direction of Providence, and got my Myrm blobbed to shit and a shiny new clone activated, which was okay in my book, after two weeks in Pator, that clone was far too dirty to ever be clean again.

Woke up in Rens, threw some new implants in my head, shuttled back to Auga. Took smith a little longer. Grabbed the OMGROFLSTOMP ™ (HELL YEA TRADEMARKS)  Rupture and smashed some more criminal scum around the area as well as traded a friendly Hurricane for a Drake while under heavy fire from an Amarrian BC fleet.

After that the Amarrians chased us off with logistics and battleships, so we went back to Auga and got our own battleship/logi fleet and absolutely rolled them.  Knowing the Amarrians were not coming back any time soon, and checking my watch and freaking out, I unplugged and rolled into bed.

Aznwithbeards Quote of the something #1

If women really want you to last all night in the bedroom, why do they get so damned angry when you come home drunk?

Their God keeps them dumb

Having just killed two dominix, I dock up and repair my cyclone for the fifth time in a little more then 12 hours. Poor little buggers bulkheads already have hairline cracks, shes gunna die soon. I report back to the Huola gate and jump in to find a hurricane at range about to get tackled by a friendly frigate, and proceed to hold cloak until I get that confirmation on my HUD.

A friendly firetail lands point on the Hurricane, at which point a few friendly frigates joining in the fight, but as I am not in fleet with anyone, I am unsure of our numbers and getting into neut range of a Hurricane is always bad news for a Cyclone. Throwing caution to the wind, I MWD the 50km and provide heavy tackle on the target. Resigned to his fate he doesn't even try to target be, and his shields are dropping rather quick.

At this point a enemy rapier lands on the gate 50km away and now I am a little nervous. The Hurricane is dying but I am unsure if my ship will make it back to the gate in time if they have a gang en route. The Rapier starts moving at MWD speeds towards me and I know I am a goner. 45km, 38km, 30km and I lock him up. 25km, 18km (wait what? drop point on hurricane) 15km (overload warp scrambler and MWD and fly towards rapier) 10km and SCRAMMMMM. Leave the drones on the Hurricane in hull and focus fire on the rapier. Full overload, I don't care if you're in a gang you're dead mate. Hurricane explodes (artillery? you fail at life), Rapier shortly after.  No one comes to help, though a few enemies jump out of the system during and after the fight. Seems we lost the hero tackling firetail. Loot the field, dock up to repair my top slots, and give the firetail pilot his share of the loot.

Apparently a friendly BC helps out a little bit, and the falcon explains the lack of locks on my hull (opens the question of why did the firetail die, however, or why the rapier pilot decided fighting in scram range was a good idea).

The pilot begins broadcasting in local communications that we shouldn't have used the ECM boat (which, seriously, arty cane and rapier? We definitely did not need his help, though appreciated) I point out that the ECM pilot did not really matter, as he stupidly brought himself into the scram range of a MWD battlecruiser.  This starts a debate.

::: Ending Log of Huola Local Communications :::

The pilot is under the assumption that given no jamming ships present and scrambled by a shield tanking battlecruiser capable of over 1700 M/S, his (now MWDless) Rapier with its 2x stasis webifiers could eventually gain enough range (before dying) to get himself clear of the fight.

Things to consider;

1. He has no speed modifications to his ship other then his MWD. At full power with decent skills and a shut down MWD he is moving (with average skills) approximately 240m/s.

Assuming my calculations are correct (top speed no heat = 1266 x .4 (1 web) = 506.4 x .4 (2nd web) I am going around 202m/s, which is (albeit only slightly) slower then his rapier. However, using the same formula with my MWD overheated (his DPS is piss poor, so I don't really need to worry about running the booster too much and I am cap stable until out of boosters, which I will not be any time soon), I am going approximately 287m/s, enough to keep pace with the rapier.

2. I am in a battlecruiser capable of approximately 500 DPS. He is in a lightly tanked Recon Cruiser at point blank range. Argument is now invalid.

3. his webs outreach his long points range of 24KM somewhere around completion of the training program "Recon Ships Level 3". Why was he anywhere NEAR warp scrambler range?

4. He is Amarrian. He preyed to his god to help him win this fight. His god failed him. Better read more Pax Amarria until your god loves you.

5. Matar victor.

Sleepless night # 2

I wake up to Smith shaking me awake, seems I was screaming in my sleep again. I feel bad, this is the fourth night in a month I've woken her up, somethings got to give.

Unable to sleep I make my way down to my hanger, maybe the deadness of space with soothe me. Perform various system checks, plus in my engineering and gunnery chips, will have to pilot and micromanage the drones manually. Can't lose another crew. Won't lose another crew. Cracks in the cyclone beginning to show, brought her in from Rens and shes been in structure quite a few times. Technician says if I drop below 75% structure, the middle of the ship will rip apart, he can't reinforce the bulkheads anymore, there's nothing left to reinforce.

Seems pretty quiet, head to vard system, HTH scum have been hanging out there as of late. Lot of docking games, but nothing better to do. Seems they've aggressed Mara Abrahams Hurricane, and I move in to help. Couple of BCs and a BS are ripping his tank to pieces, friendly falcon lands, lands some jams, Mara bails. I am not in range to tackle anything, no one dies.... shame. Poke on of their older pilots in a Harbinger to duel, he declines. Pussies, all of them. Finally get a capsuleer that graduated a month after me to bite, but hes in a shield hurricane and wants to play at a safespot. I am in a cyclone. Confirming it did not end well. 50% armor remaining on him when I exploded. Might have had him but a comms panel exploded, causing temporary blindness and I did not have the ability to click the injector in time. Almost lost the pod.

Head back to Rens and build two more, turn around and motor back towards Auga. En route to faction space there are some friendlies asking for pilots to join fleet. I oblige and get to he Huola gate just as one of the members gets aggressed by a harbinger. Shameful pilot that refused to duel me.  Would have taken me with that fit, shame he has no balls. Intel says there are two WTs in Arzad, just 5 jumps away. Most of the fleet go one way, I go the shorter way.

Jump into Roushzar, Neutral pilot in a Tengu. Tackles me and opens fire. My systems are pretty well warmed up and this ship has just been assembled, so I shoot back. He is not doing significant damage to me, but the length of the battle is starting to take its toll. My cap is emptying and the cap injector can't keep up, my armor is all but gone, and I have some structure bleed. Mechanic is gunna punch me in the face when he sees this.

Friendly bomber shows up at some point, paints the target for me and damps the tengu (not really needed, HAMs won't hit his bomber, and I'm nose to nose with him). A fleet member in a tackler shows up but the tengu starts deaggressing hoping to jump out of the system, so I tell him to jump to the other side and overload my guns. My shields are back up to full HP, my guns are mostly burnt out and hes jumping out at any second. Risk more heat, fleet members finally start to land in system, another friendly bomber launches a salv of missiles and that ends the tengu.

Did I really just (mostly) solo a GCCed tengu in a Cyclone? Did one of the bombers seriously get the killmail? SO MUCH RAGE. I was so angry and excited I accidentally the local channel after he exploded. -

[ 2011.04.18 06:19:59 ] triplesol69 > gf
[ 2011.04.18 06:20:56 ] CazbonC26 > gf guys

Shame it wasn't a solo kill though, I'd have bragging rights for days if it was.

Docked back up in Huola to spot repair my ship. Fleet member in a bomber went to go scout Arzad, seemed to take him a while. Intel says the WT is in a drake and almost just took down one of our brothers ships. Fleet is en route, but the WT docks up when I jump into system to bait.Warp around a bit, find a neutral pilot in a tengu on the gate with me. He jumps, I jump. I'm feeling lucky even thought we really only have 2 or 3 DPS ships and a bunch of frigates, so I scramble its engines. At that same moment, the WT drake undocks and aggresses one of our fleet members hurricane. I tell everyone to not worry bout the tengu and go kill the drake, but at this point the tengu has aggressed one of  our frig pilots (who GCCed in a taranis) as I warp off. One of our harbingers opens fire on him and it seems the drake is a non-issue, I spin around and help the binger pilot take down the MIGHTY T3.  Two T3 kills in one night, and neither is faction fit.... shame. We lose a sabre, taranis, and bomber in the fight however (why are frigates shooting neutral T3s on gates?), my thoughts go out to the crews who lost their lives. Dock back up and send loot to the downed pilots, rep my completely overheated mods (once again) and prepare to undock.

Smith opens up a channel and demands I come back to Auga and sleep, or no nookie for a month. I'm quite tired anyway, and nookie is nookie. Make my way back and our FC crossjumps a Hurricane, I miss the scram and the rest of fleet is behind me. He docks and I start motoring back home. He eventually lands at range from our FC and engages. I am only one jump out and eventually get in on the action. Its the Hurricane pilot I dueled earlier in the night. A chance at redemption, sort of. I overheat my MWD and eventually land a scrambler on the damned thing, at which point it melts under BC, Navy cruiser, and frigate fire.

Scoop the loot and motor back to Auga. Dock the ship, write down the cyclones launch codes and hand it to the on-duty mechanic, who promptly throws a box of Phased Plasma S at my face.

Mechanic - " You literally got this ship three hours ago, its already been in hull twice, its invul burnt out once, two guns and all its rockets are currently offlined, and your entire midslot rack is 90% burnt out!!!"

I turn to the mechanic, smile at him, turn on the view screen and load up the current list of ships killed in the past three hours. His eyes open real wide, his jaw gapes wide open, and I calmly state "all in a days work for The Republic."

New member for OMGROFLSTOMP

We've recently accepted our fourth member into OMGROFLSTOMP, Duke Thunderhorse. I flew with him a bit in NOIR. He has his own blog found here. Bit of a noob, pretty much on par with rendeath. but we shall mold them into epic pilots.

Sleepless night #1

Wake up shaking from the nights latest nightmare, thankfully didn't wake Smith. Browse the intel channels as I walk to the hanger deck. Militia member wants some support, fast skirmish ships that can get out easily. My crew leader asks who I want roused out of bed? I say let them sleep. Ask him if he can man the few vital systems I can not by himself. He says he'll try. We jump in a freshly build Stabber Class Cruiser.

Meet up with the fleet and we head towards providence, the region is pretty quiet these days but I hope one day Ushra'Khan can secure the region once again and return it to its slave-less roots. Tea kills himself a dramiel and a malediction in 4B- as on of our pilots asks for help in KBP. We make haste, but he loses his Caracal Navy Issue to a few neutral pilots in pirate hulls en route. We attempt to engage again, but they run to highsec.

Militia member reporting a BC gang of 5 in a lowsec system nearby, Kamela, and we make haste for the system. We tell the pilot (who has a fleet of his own, but can not take the gang by themselves) to aggress the gang, but the communication comes to late and we are forced to jump into Kamela by the Amarr navy, and the enemy gang scatters into space like rats.

We kill of a slaver as he attempts to meet up with his gang, then move back into Kourmonen and spread out in attempt to find more. After a while, I start attacking a Hurricane on a nearby station, which does not agress me. I go back to the Huola stargate by myself to hold the gate while the fleet runs around. Hurricane pilot lands on top of me, starts shooting. I'm scrambled and my tank is breaking, but I do not want to leave the field until the fleet has a confirmed point. Someone in fleet jumps into me, gets point, and I jump into Huola, spin around, and jump back into Kourm. Seems a Harbinger has landed as well, Kill the cane, Point the harbinger,  pop the hurricane pilots capsule, and destroy the Harbinger. Almost lost one of our frigs, but he lasted longer then the Harbinger.

Another Hurricane lands shortly after, Tea gets a scram on it and it dies, but  we lose teaearlgrays dramiel in the process.

A bit later I dock up to find some crewmen awake, and ask them If they'd like a chance to help fly a battlecruiser from the bridge with the captain. They agree. Its not very often that you see mere crewmen running gunnery, engineering, and propulsion systems, right place right time, and a good story for them, If they make it out alive. We undock a cyclone and make our way back to the huola stargate.

A fleet member finds a Legion at range in a complex in Huola, and warps to his safespot near the legion as the legion warps to the beacon at zero. Seems the legion pilot want to play and our harbinger pilot warps back down and aggress the enemys legion. Points called, I jump in, not sure if we have enough to take him. Harbinger pilot starts getting jumpy on comms, seems his tank is failing and he needs to bail. One of our frigates land, gets point and the Harbinger pulls out. I land and grab secondary point, tell frigate pilot to pull range. Legion starts opening up on me, and he hurts. Some stragglers ask me to wait to kill him, so we can all share the glory, and I do for a moment. Legion is shortly after repped back up to full health and my tank is starting to break, I can not wait any longer and tell everyone to destroy it. I am not losing crewmen and ship for another capsuleers glory.

I scoop the faction/deadspace loot and hurry back to Kourmonen. As the crew and I repair my ships badly overheated modules, the fleet discusses what to do with the modules. We finally decide that I would buy them out, and sell off the looted items whenever I got the chance. (it was gone in 30 minutes). Seems a wartarget in a harbinger wanted A fight in Huola, and agresses one of our pilots. Fleet member aggresses back, and a neutral in a guardian starts repping the war target. I land last, the guardian is too far off so I call for overload at which point the Harbinger dies. Don't know if he would have died had we not overloaded TBH.

A friend of mine then tells me of a fleet on the Dital gate in KBP of approximately 6 BC and 2 BS (including a Bhaalgorn). We quickly get in BCs and end up being 6 BCs and a neutral buddy in a thorax. We take pretty long to reship, and now a gang of wartarget BCs are in the area.

One of our fleet aggresses a lone Hurricane on the huola gate, at which point I decide to go help, even though its a trap. Almost kill the hurricane before his gang arrives, pretty much 10 BCs with 2 guardians. Fun. I'm webbed, neuted, and scrammed, but not primary. Another Pilot has a long point on me. I look at my crewmens faces as I drop some jam drones and aggress the pilot shooting me. Tell my crewmember at gunnery to overload all guns, tell propulsion to ready the overheat of the MWD if we can get it, and tell engineering to make sure that cap injects perfectly.  Align to the Lamaa gate, Jam hits, overload the MWD, 1k, 4k, 6k, 7k and my jams miss. Webbed again but inertia gives me the range i need. Quickly move out of long point range and warp away. We lost a drake and a hurricane, they lost nothing.

Takes us a bit for the pilots who lost ships to get into other ones, but it eventually gets done. Bait drakes go into KBP first and start firing, the neutral fleet begins to.... jump out? WHAT? At this point I am tired, head back to Auga, shaking my head the whole way back at the pilots who would run from a gang smaller and outclassed. Hit the station, tell the crew members to get some shut eye, and roll into bed.
